The Red Talk Program

The Menstrual Health & Dignity (MHD) Games “The Red Talk” engages 10,000 adolescents across 50 schools and colleges located in urban, semi-urban, peri-urban, and rural areas of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Peshawar. Within this outreach, 500 adolescents directly receive Menstrual Health & Dignity kits, including menstrual products and interactive educational games, alongside bilingual, play-based MHD sessions and peer educator training designed to challenge stigma, improve knowledge, and foster positive attitudes toward menstruation.

The MHD Games “The Red Talk” component addresses cultural stigma by combining menstrual products with youth-friendly, interactive health games, specifically designed for adolescent girls. Responding to evidence that a significant proportion of girls receive no information before their first period, the initiative integrates menstrual education with play-based learning to normalize conversations, build confidence, and strengthen informed product choice. Knowledge and attitudes toward menstruation improve by an estimated 40% through structured sessions and peer-led engagement.

The initiative also strengthens Fempure product access and sales by placing Fempure product racks in all 50 participating schools and colleges, improving visibility and availability within trusted learning environments. Willing students are engaged as MHD ambassadors, promoting peer-to-peer awareness and supporting sustained product uptake and sales through school- and college-based channels.

The program is already active, with 08 schools participating across Rawalpindi, Islamabad, and Peshawar, including:

  • Lyceum Groove School, Rawalpindi

  • Hunehar Welfare School, Islamabad

  • Government Girls High School, Khat Killay

  • Allied School, Kohat Road Campus

  • Allied School, Gulbahar Campus

  • Hira Public School

  • Polytechnic School, Peshawar

  • Global School, Rawalpindi

Key Outcomes & Indicators

  • Percentage of menstruators using menstrual products from local social and solidarity enterprises (SSEs)

  • Percentage of menstruators aware of more than one type of menstrual product

  • Sales volume of Fempure products through school and college product racks

Through MHD Games “The Red Talk,” schools become safe, informed, and stigma-free spaces, while adolescents gain knowledge, dignity, and access—supporting both menstrual wellbeing and sustainable local product ecosystems.
